How to use this tool

  1. Confirm the supported age and residency conditions.
  2. Enter assessable assets, income and partner details.
  3. Review both tests, deemed income and the listed exclusions.

How the result is calculated

The means tests are calculated separately. The supported pension estimate follows the test that produces the lower entitlement, with eligible supplements handled explicitly.

Worked example

If an illustrative income test permits $800 per fortnight and the assets test permits $650, the lower $650 amount controls the base estimate.

What this result does not cover

Services Australia determines entitlement. Overseas, transitional and complex financial-product cases are outside the initial scope.

Questions people ask

Is every asset assessed the same way?

No. The asset category and relevant exclusions matter.

Do you add bank interest to deemed income?

Not for the same financial asset in the supported deeming calculation.

Is the result for one person or a couple?

The result labels that basis; do not compare amounts with different household units.
