Electricity Plan Cost Comparison
Compare electricity offers using the way your household uses energy. Include daily supply charges, usage rates and solar feed-in credits to see a consistent cost estimate.
Calculation breakdown
How to use this tool
- Enter a common billing period and usage profile.
- Copy rates and conditions from each plan.
- Compare total cost and check whether every charge is supported.
How the result is calculated
The estimate adds daily supply charges and usage in each rate period, then subtracts eligible credits. Conditional discounts apply only when their requirements are met.
Worked example
At 30 cents per kWh plus a $1 daily supply charge, 4,000 kWh over 365 days costs $1,565 before solar credits or other adjustments.
What this result does not cover
This compares the offers you enter, not every plan in the market. Demand charges require suitable interval data and a supported calculation.
Questions people ask
Is the cheapest usage rate always cheapest overall?
No. Supply charges, fees and credits also matter.
Should I include GST twice?
No. Enter rates on the same stated GST basis.
Can a bigger feed-in rate hide higher costs?
Yes. Compare the complete bill at your own import and export levels.
Supported scope and official sources
User-entered quotes, GST-inclusive inputs, identical consumption and time buckets. Different tariff windows must first be re-bucketed using meter intervals; otherwise comparison is blocked. Demand, block and controlled-load tariff modules are not implemented. Annualised costs extrapolate this period and are not forecasts.
