How the result is calculated

The standard supported calculation uses basic wage and eligible service. The first five years and later service use different day-based amounts, with a statutory overall limit.

Worked example

At AED6,000 monthly basic wage, the daily basis is AED200. Two complete eligible years at 21 days per year produce AED8,400.

What this result does not cover

DIFC, ADGM, domestic-worker, national-pension and alternative savings-scheme arrangements are not included in this version.

Questions people ask

Should I use total salary?

Use the applicable basic wage for this supported calculation, not an assumed all-inclusive package.

Is gratuity my full final settlement?

No. Notice pay, leave and other amounts are separate.

Does unpaid absence count as service?

The supported standard calculation excludes the relevant unpaid absence.
