Calculation breakdown
How to use this tool
- Choose your emirate and enter household income.
- Add recurring costs, annual bills and actual due dates.
- Review monthly surplus, upfront cash and possible shortfall dates.
How the result is calculated
Annual costs are divided by twelve for budget comparisons, but the cash-flow timeline uses the dates when you must actually pay. Deposits are tracked separately from ordinary spending.
Worked example
AED60,000 annual rent equals AED5,000 per month for budgeting. If paid in four cheques, each payment is AED15,000 and needs that cash available on its due date.
What this result does not cover
This is a personal budget, not a claim about average living costs or the salary every household needs. Refunds and employer reimbursements are not guaranteed.
Questions people ask
Can a positive monthly average hide a cash shortfall?
Yes. Large bills may fall before enough cash has accumulated.
Are all UAE emirates priced the same?
No. Use quotes for your own location and circumstances.
Should remittances be included?
Yes. Add the amount and timing alongside household expenses.
Supported scope and official sources
Blank prices by default: use your own quotes. Exactly 12 calendar months from the first of a month. Annual rent is allocated once across actual cheque dates. School bills remain dated. Deposits and setup are one-off outflows; reimbursements/refunds enter only on their dates. Same-day outflows precede income conservatively. Savings transfers leave available cash. Emirate changes context only, never prices.
