Your details

Your scenario

2026–27 regular resident payroll using Schedule 1 and Schedule 8. Medicare is an allocation within PAYG, not an extra charge. Repayment-income adjustments appear in a separate annualised HELP planning comparison, not employer withholding. Foreign residents, working holiday makers, family levy variations and special payroll are unsupported.

Entries stay in this browser. Examples use illustrative confirmations; replace them with your own checked details.

How to use this tool

  1. Choose the financial year and supported residency setting.
  2. Enter salary or hourly pay and confirm whether super is included.
  3. Add HELP and deduction details, then review the breakdown.

How the result is calculated

Payroll deductions depend on the pay period and applicable rules. HELP uses a defined repayment-income measure, which may differ from ordinary taxable income.

Worked example

In a simplified month, $5,000 gross less $800 tax, $100 Medicare and $150 HELP leaves $3,950. The actual amounts depend on your selected rules and inputs.

What this result does not cover

A payroll estimate is not a final tax assessment. Unsupported residency, family and surcharge cases require separate treatment.

Questions people ask

Is salary including super the same as cash salary?

No. A package can include employer super that is not paid as cash.

Does HELP use taxable income only?

Not always. The repayment-income definition includes specified adjustments.

Does withholding equal my final repayment?

Not necessarily. Your annual assessment reconciles the final amount.
