Calculation breakdown
How to use this tool
- Enter confirmed employer contributions and the financial year.
- Add the contribution you want to compare.
- Review take-home impact, estimated net contribution and cap usage.
How the result is calculated
Concessional contribution totals include relevant employer and personal amounts. Tax within super and changes to personal income tax are calculated separately.
Worked example
A hypothetical $10,000 concessional contribution taxed at 15% leaves $8,500 inside super before other adjustments. Your available cap and personal circumstances still matter.
What this result does not cover
Special high-income, age and carryforward rules can change the result. This tool does not recommend a fund or guarantee an investment outcome.
Questions people ask
Does employer super use my concessional cap?
Relevant employer contributions generally form part of that total.
Is after-tax saving treated the same way?
No. Nonconcessional contributions follow a different cap and tax treatment.
Can I use unused caps automatically?
Only if the applicable carryforward conditions are satisfied and the room is verified.
