Etsy Fee and Profit Calculator

Estimate fees and take-home profit for one order, including shipping and advertising costs.

Your order

Enter totals for one completed order in U.S. dollars, not per-item amounts. Include personalization and gift wrapping in the item total.

Listing charges can include renewals or multiple items. Use 0 for a credited listing. Allocate unsold listing costs, subscriptions, setup costs, returns and taxes on fees through Other costs where relevant.

Choose the Offsite Ads tier shown in your shop. The 12% tier continues once qualified; it is not based only on this year's sales. Only attributed orders incur this fee, capped at $100 per order. Etsy Ads is a separate allocated spend, not a percentage automatically charged on every sale.

For currency conversion, enter USD-equivalent amounts yourself. This estimates the conversion charge; it does not fetch exchange rates or support other countries' payment-processing schedules.

Fee rules and calculation

Version us-2026-10-06.1. Reviewed October 6, 2026; next scheduled review December 31, 2026. Listing, transaction, processing, Offsite Ads, conversion and Etsy Ads modules are each version 1.0.0. These are U.S. Etsy Payments assumptions, not an Etsy invoice.

  • Listing: $0.20 per allocated charge.
  • Transaction: 6.5% of item total plus buyer-paid shipping.
  • U.S. payment processing: 3% of item total, shipping and sales tax, plus $0.25 once per order.
  • Offsite Ads: 0%, 12% or 15% of item total plus shipping, capped at $100 for the order.
  • Currency conversion: when selected, this model applies 2.5% to item total plus shipping before other fees, excluding remitted sales tax.
  • Etsy Ads: your allocated dollar cost for this order.

Revenue = item total + buyer-paid shipping. Net profit = revenue - fees - product cost - shipping-label cost - other costs. Margin = net profit / revenue. Sales tax is passed through, so it is not profit. Each percentage fee rounds to the nearest cent, with half-cent ties rounded upward; Etsy's actual currency conversion or billing adjustments may differ.

Listing costs can arise without a sale. This order model always includes the fixed processing charge, even in a zero-revenue scenario; it is not a model of a cancelled order or a shop with no sales. Zero revenue has no defined profit margin. Discounts should already be reflected in your item total. Refunds, fee credits and costs you have not entered are excluded.

Check Etsy's Fees & Payments Policy and U.S. payment-processing fees before relying on a scenario. The fee engine and review schedule must be updated when policies change.
