Calculation breakdown
How to use this tool
- Choose the July-to-June benefit period.
- Enter the corresponding adjusted family net income.
- Add eligible children and review the monthly result.
How the result is calculated
CCB starts with amounts based on eligible children and their ages, then applies income-related reductions. A child's age or family circumstances can change payments during the year.
Worked example
In a simplified example, an $8,000 annual maximum less a $2,000 income reduction leaves $6,000, or $500 per month if circumstances stay unchanged.
What this result does not cover
This estimate does not confirm eligibility or reproduce a CRA assessment. Provincial programs and disability supplements are excluded unless expressly listed.
Questions people ask
Should I enter this month's salary?
Use the adjusted family net income for the income year linked to the benefit period.
Does a birthday affect the result?
Age-band changes can affect the applicable monthly amount.
Is shared custody just half one household's result?
Not necessarily. Each parent's circumstances and the scheme rules matter.
