Federal and state overtime

Covered nonexempt employees generally receive at least time and one-half after 40 hours in a workweek. The calculator also models the principal daily rules for California, Alaska, Colorado and Nevada, including California double time and seventh-day work. Premiums are not pyramided over the same hours.

Exemptions, regular-rate additions, alternative schedules, employer size, industries, occupations, local law and collective bargaining may change the result. Use this as a wage check, not a legal determination.
