How to use this tool
- Confirm the supported employment system and region.
- Enter ordinary hours, balance and planned dates.
- Review accrual and the hours deducted for your break.
How the result is calculated
Leave accrual uses ordinary hours and the applicable entitlement. Overtime and different absence types do not all accrue leave in the same way.
Worked example
At a four-week annual entitlement, an employee working 20 ordinary hours per week accrues 80 hours over a full eligible year.
What this result does not cover
This version does not calculate leave pay, loading or every state-system entitlement. Casual and special shiftworker cases need their own supported rules.
Questions people ask
Does overtime increase annual leave automatically?
No. The supported calculation is based on ordinary hours.
Do all states have identical holidays?
No. State, territory and some local dates differ.
Does leave disappear at year end?
Do not assume an automatic reset; apply the relevant entitlement and employer records.
